Monika Mrońska is a fashion designer and photographer based in Poland.
“My fashion story “In Bloom” is about a woman in a different stage of her life. From innocence, then through rebellion, early adulthood to self-confidence and wisdom. She experiences an awakening, develops, blooms, and gains power and self-awareness. This story is about her journey, getting to know herself, discovering the strength and potential that she has.”
As a photographer, I wanted to show the transformation that takes place in a woman who has to go through an important process in her life to become a self-confident and conscious human being. I use different lighting for each style to emphasize that change.
Besides being the author of photographs, I’m also the author of all the clothes used in this photo session. I create clothes in the spirit of slow fashion. I put a lot of emphasis on making my clothes hand-made or have some handicraft in them.
That is why my projects are hand-knitted, and hand-dyed by me. Some of them are also hand-pleated by me. Part of my designs I create in close cooperation with a tailor.
I create clothes in the spirit of slow fashion. I put a lot of emphasis on making my clothes hand-made or have some handicraft in them.
As a fashion designer and stylist for this photo session, I used clothes with different textures to show the changes that occur in the emotional sphere of a woman. Clothes are a carrier of our emotions, thanks to them we can communicate the state of our spirit to the world in a non-verbal way. Despite the use of clothes of different textures and colors, they form a whole.
