The creator of the brand Damur (Shih-Shun) Huang is creative but resilient. He excels at deconstructing the key aspects behind Berlin culture and rebuilding them with his vision into eccentric yet casual collections. He is currently up to his 13th collection, having received the Young Talents awards. Not for the first time we feature his work and already surprised us with a boat show in Berlin, now coming to Taipei with his big show.
Once again, the Berlin-based high street brand #DAMUR has left an indelible mark on the fashion landscape with daring and groundbreaking fashion performances that captivated fashion enthusiasts during Taipei Fashion Week.
Renowned designer Damur Huang inspired Taiwan by unveiling the brand’s latest collection through a spectacular boat show at Kaohsiung.
Featuring oversized PVC raincoats, electric pink and green floral tops, and mix-and-match suits, the collection presents an irregular yet dreamy high-fashion design. Employing 3D cutouts, diverse geometric patterns, and ruffled details, the collection accentuates the beauty of contours and body movement.
The #DAMUR SS24 collection epitomizes the fluidity of fashion, whimsical artistic fantasies, and the subversive essence of the designer’s inner theater and creativity.
The collaboration with ARGO Yacht Club, Kaohsiung City Government Youth Bureau, and the 2023 Kaohsiung Fashion Awards (KFA) allowed #DAMUR to showcase its brand aboard “AC80,” Taiwan’s largest operational yacht valued at 2 billion NTD. The yacht embarked from the picturesque Kaohsiung coastline towards the iconic Kaohsiung Harbor Bridge.
Themed “Love Paradise,” the showcase symbolizes a romantic and enchanting love movie crafted by #DAMUR, seamlessly integrating the sea, sky, and urban landscape into the flowing contours of modern dance-inspired models.
For the designer, this endeavor was about creating a fashion paradise at sea, participating in a global dialogue of style, embracing everyone with the warmth of the waves, transcending gender and skin color, and establishing an absolutely safe and inclusive space where no one is left out. The result is a love song named “#DAMUR,” embodying the fusion of dreams, softness, and steadfastness, akin to sparks and sea breeze.
