This unforgettable show presented the BVG in a completely new, musical light, showcasing their familiar charm.
The Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe (BVG) premiered their musical “Tarifzone Liebe – Love Travels by Tram” at the sold-out show in Admiralspalast. It was captivating 1,300 spectators with enthralling songs, humorous dialogues, and impressive performances.
The historic Admiralspalast hosted this extraordinary musical experience, narrating the story of Tramara, the lovable tram, and her passenger Alexander through specially composed songs. The audience embarked on a romantic journey through vibrant Berlin, discovering the city’s beauty in a touching new way. Ahead of Christmas, the BVG emphasized consideration and mutual respect through this musical.
But why a musical?
“Weil wir Dich lieben” = eng. “Because we love you. as the iconic BVG slogan says…
In the story of the musical, we advocate once again for a respectful and open coexistence in our city. We want to set an example of solidarity and mutual appreciation.
During the production process, we worked closely with Berlin artists. We also brought some musical luminaries and professionals on board, or rather, on the tram: The renowned musical director Christoph Drewitz (Ku’damm 56, Romeo & Juliet) directed the show, and the cast features stars such as Jeannine Wacker (Wicked) and Gino Emnes (Aaron Burr in Hamilton). For the book and lyrics, we enlisted the experienced musical writer Tom van Hasselt as a co-author.
“The musical highlighted the importance of unity and mutual acceptance.”
“We are overwhelmed by the positive response to our premiere,” said Christine Wolburg, Head of Sales and Marketing at the BVG. It is a heartfelt project for us. We thank everyone involved for their collaboration and our audience for their support.”
The “Yellow” Carpet for “Tarifzone Liebe” saw numerous VIPs, artists, and social media talents celebrating the premiere.
Notable guests included Simone Thomalla, Franziska Giffey, Alicia Awa, Nikeata Thompson, Ines Anioli, Taneshia Abt, Nina Ensmann, Candy Crash, BOOZ, Jan-Henrik Maria Scheper-Stuke, Julian F. M. Stoeckel, Luna Schweiger, Lilly Charlotte Dreesen, Patrice Bouédibéla, and many more. The exuberant atmosphere marked a special moment for the BVG and everyone involved who worked on this project with great passion and dedication.
