Comarobot (Jung-tack Moon) and Si Jin (Si-jin Kim), founders of the techno club Volnost in Seoul, have established the label GWI MYEON RECORDS.
Derived from “⻤面” (gwi myeon), signifying protection from harm by borrowing the power of ‘⻤,’ they specialize in Techno music rooted in the Industrial & Experimental genres. ‘⻤’ represents a character embodying the subjective image of human beings through imagination. Gwi Myeon Records is committed to paving the way for new experimental challenges that have not been explored within the subjective inner realm of the artists.
Years of Denial is a collaborative project featuring French musician Jerome Tcherneyan, former drummer of the revered British band Piano Magic and a music producer since 1997, and Czech performance artist, songwriter, and poet Barkosina Hanusova.
Established in 2016, the duo has gained international recognition for their meticulously crafted productions and captivating live performances. Armed with hardware and an array of dub devices, complemented by Barkosina’s distinctive vocals, they explore the shadowy realms of post-punk, goth, new beat, EBM, industrial, and rave culture. Their live shows infuse rhythmic beats and pulsating arpeggios with intense electronics, creating a spacey and psychedelic sonic experience. The duo commands the dance floor with a dynamic and unforgettable performance.
Renowned for their prolific discography, much of which originates from the renowned Ark of Noise studios, Years of Denial has released works on labels such as Death & Leisure, Pinkman, and Khemia. Their landmark 2xLP, “Suicide Disco” (Veyl 2019), ignited dance floors globally and became synonymous with their unique sonic identity.
The accompanying remix EP featured reworks from Silent Servant, Orphx, Broken English Club, and Alexey Volkov.
In 2023, Years of Denial returned with “Suicide Disco II” (Veyl), a triumphant release featuring 12 new tracks. This marked their comeback to the live stage, continuing to captivate audiences and solidify the project’s distinctive sound and legacy.
