NASTIA announces an invitation for demo submissions for an exclusive Bandcamp project via her label: NECHTO

Nastia, whose real name is Anastasia Topolskaia, needs no introduction to those enthralled in the Ukrainian electronic music scene. Over the last 19 years of her musical career, Nastia has built an impressive musical resume. She has explored a multitude of different genres and has projected the Ukrainian dance music scene onto the global field. From House Music to Techno, Nastia is now known historically as the most touring and popular DJ in Ukraine. Having hosted her own weekly radio show there for a decade, she has also created ample events and opportunities for artists across Ukraine throughout her career. One example being Strichka Festival, which debuted in 2014 and still runs annually to this day.

In 2013, she created her first vinyl label, Propaganda Records which brought her even more notoriety within the modern house music genre. From the creation of this label, her career snowballed even more. Having appeared on the covers of magazines such as Mixmag and DJ Mag, Nastia then gained a BBC Radio 1 residency and appeared on Berlin’s famous Radio Hör. In addition, Nastia has also been regularly invited to speak at various music conferences and has frequently performed for Boiler Room events. In 2019 Propaganda Records closed its doors, so as Nastia could cultivate a new path better suited to her ever evolving music career.

The name NECHTO, though being an anagram of ‘techno’, also has the meaning ‘something else’ when derived from its origin. The idea of this new label was to create a platform devoid of pretension that pushes artistic growth. This is also whilst still being deeply rooted with the core values of the dance music community. Its mission is to harness its major influence to nurture upcoming, emerging artists.

An example of this is the lock-down YouTube project Nastia created alongside NECHTO – Scary Beautiful. This project brought together both established artists and producers with new upcoming individuals within the techno scene. Nastia selected works that resonated with her and the ideologies of NECHTO, recording the sets in unique urban locations and uploading them to YouTube. Each set was then released under her label, allowing for an international audience and global recognition for those involved. This project fully embodied this current stage in her career, using her worldwide notoriety to help new artists breakthrough.

At NECHTO they carry the same values, aiming to simplify release processes so artists can focus on creating high quality content. Since opening their doors, NECHTO has collaborated with well established artists such as R.M.K, Stef Mendesidis, Lee Holman and more. They have also provided Ukraine with new artists including Voin Oruwu, Splinter and Symonenko. Although being globally renowned, NECHTO and Nastia constantly advocate and fight for the people of Ukraine and their homeland.

Nastia, envisions a platform that breaks traditional barriers, providing a chance for producers to be heard without the constraints of a standard record label deal. The concept revolves around selecting standout tracks from the submitted demos, compensating the chosen artists with a fee and the track’s revenue. NECHTO then features their work at the forefront of an ongoing compilation on Bandcamp. Each artist then features with just one track.

NECHTO Bandcamp project offers a remarkable opportunity for artists. It’s a unique way to gain them recognition, and ensures that their creations are showcased to a broader audience. With over 4,000 devoted followers on Bandcamp, Nastia’s promotion efforts will extend far and wide. This, in turn, amplifies the reach of those featured.
