Multidisciplinary fashion designer Marlon Ferry celebrates the launch of his own atelier with his debut solo show at Berlin Fashion Week in June 2024. His collection beautifully merges technological innovation with artisanal craftsmanship, featuring meticulously handcrafted pieces made with precision and care in his Berlin studio.
Inspired by contemporary events and innovations, Marlon Ferry’s master’s thesis delved into the contrast between modern technologies. Including artificial intelligence and 3D printing, and traditional craft techniques.
The boom in economic sectors such as crypto, stocks and start-ups inspired Ferry’s dynamic polygonal collection. Chrome sculptures combined with a deep color palette encapsulate euphoria and an embryonic belief in progress of the time.
“With my first collection, I wanted to continue the narrative of the convergence of the natural and the artificial. This resulted in extraordinary material compositions and surreal silhouettes created through the fusion of technology and craft. I am delighted to present my experimental works for the first time in the form of a solo runway show.” – Marlon Ferry, Design
The natural and the artificial is found in the elaborate pleating of high-quality fabrics. Traditional couture techniques with AI based technologies are combined with those that mimic human creativity. This innovative approach to design has earned him international recognition and attention.
Ferry focusses on the sociological and conceptual aspects of the human-machine relationship and what constitutes human creativity.
After an internship at Iris van Herpen’s renowned studio in Amsterdam and completing his master’s degree in fashion design, he has spent the last two years presenting his innovative designs in the up-and-coming format Neo.Fashion for young and aspiring designers in Germany. The debut promises to be a pivotal moment, heralding the next chapter in Marlon Ferry’s journey and the development of his atelier
