Fashion designer Cindy K x Nadia Struiwigh musician connect together to work on the unisex set as a part of Cindy K brand.
CINDY K is a fashion and accessory brand created by Prague-based designer Cindy Kutíková – meanwhile Nadia’s connection to both Rotterdam and her current base in Berlin reflects her deep affinity for techno—a genre defined by its driving, dynamic energy. Both experts of their niche came with interesting collaboration to reflect their common vision in creating unisex set as part of the Cindy K brand – custom print made in Prague & crafted in Slovak Republic. We talked to Nadia to get know more about their story.
Nadia’s lifelong fascination with colour, pattern and music has led her to explore various aspects of the fashion industry. This journey led to a collaboration with Cindy K, whose playful approach to fashion resonates deeply with nadia’s creative vision. Together we push boundaries by seamlessly blending music, fashion and audiovisual elements to redefine the fashion experience.
CINDY K work is characterized by a unique approach that merges and blurs the boundaries between graphic design and other artistic disciplines such as fashion and glassmaking. She emphasizes the contrast between the uniqueness of craftsmanship and the reproducibility of the digital world. Cindy K is known for her playful use of textiles, vibrant colors, and innovative combinations of materials, including glass beads—a material with a centuries-old tradition in the Czech Republic.
Struiwigh’s music has been released on labels such as Central Processing Unit, Nous’klaer Audio, and Dekmantel, showcasing a range that spans from gritty, sequenced beats to expansive, melodic soundscapes. Always in tune with the present and continually pushing the boundaries of her sound, Nadia embraces electronic music as a platform for endless possibilities. Her work, characterized by both technical precision and a strong artistic vision, is a blend of heartfelt experimentation and machine-driven creativity, where the technology is as expressive as the artist guiding it.
How did the two of you meet each other?
It was almost like faith. I was scrolling through Instagram, exploring connections related to Julia Heuer, whose clothing I admire. I’ve always been drawn to gradients and imagined creating my own outfit. That’s when I stumbled upon Cindy’s account. Instantly, I felt a spark and reached out. It was as if we’d known each other forever, sharing a similar creative approach.
Speaking of collaborations … how did you compromise your common vision to find a way to find a point where you are both satisfied?
Interestingly, I knew Cindy worked with gradients, which aligns perfectly with my love for pastel and bright colors. I gave her full creative freedom, and it turned out our visions were very much in sync. We did compromise slightly on the colors, particularly incorporating the bright green, but the overall design—unisex, with matching pants and shirt—was pure magic. For me, collaboration means everyone playing to their strengths without feeling like they’re compromising.
How was the creative process and the way of communication brought to the point it’s out in the world? Was it long or rather fast and furious?
When the universe aligns energies, things move quickly. Cindy and I have a strong, loving connection, and as soon as she started on her summer collection, she began designing immediately after a few video calls. I shared the vibe of my album and my desire to bring more color and fun into the world, and we really bounced ideas off each other. I even traveled to Prague to meet her and her team. She worked incredibly hard, and I’m forever grateful. It still feels surreal that this vision has become a reality.
