We are excited to premiere their mix recorded this summer!
Hey both, it was great to receive your mix! Could you share more about the b2b set you played?
Helena Hauff: Oh, it was so much fun. Last time Melt as well. I always loved that stage I had played it once before and it was nice to be able to experience it one last time.
Mell G: Yes agree. For me, it was the first and unfortunately, the last time playing Big Wheel Stage but the energy was mad. We were vibing a lot and I was more than happy to see so many people enjoying what we were doing.
It sounds like the blend came together really well! Did you prepare a lot for it, or did you improvise and go with the flow?
Helena: We met in Hamburg to play some music together a month before the show and see how our mixing styles could work together but it fits perfectly. We just started with some electro and then some techno and it worked out well.
Mell: I was very surprised at how many of the same tracks we had at our first meeting haha! But we didn’t prepare a setlist. It was all improvised.
What did you find most inspiring while contributing to this set? Are there any artists we should have on our radar right now?
Helena: Mell’s energy is insane. And the crowd was so good. It’s always such a joy to play for a crowd that’s really into the music when you know they love Electro.
Mell: Yes!! Played a lot of festivals this year where I switched from electro to techno because the crowd is overwhelmed with too many bleeps zaps and breaks. But we were 100% ourselves and I think people who are really into music get that and that’s where the energy comes from. We played a lot of Human Rebellion and Ement. Also Human Rebellion made a Techno alias called HR101. They gonna release their first Track on my label in October this year. Definitely worth a listen!
What’s next for you two? Are there any plans for new music together or more shows?
We’re definitely gonna play b2b again but no fixed date yet.
