ZIFEI WANG made an indelible mark at London Fashion Week with the unveiling of its Spring/Summer 2025 collection, “Endless River.” Hosted at the elegant Waldorf Hilton, this highly anticipated show was not only a celebration of the brand’s debut at London Fashion Week but also a tribute to its decade-long journey under the creative leadership of founder Zifei Wang.
Inspired by the Haihe River in Tianjin, China, “Endless River” masterfully intertwined the city’s folk culture with the demands of a modern, industrialized world. This fusion of tradition and innovation played out through three distinct collections, each offering a breathtaking blend of Eastern aesthetics and Western modernity. Zifei Wang’s designs vividly brought to life a cross-cultural exchange, symbolically linking the Haihe and the River Thames, as the collection reflected the shared histories of Tianjin and London.
The collection was a visual dialogue between past and future, where traditional Chinese craftsmanship such as Hua Luo and Xiangyun silk met cutting-edge techniques like deconstruction and abstract hand-drawing. The show highlighted sustainability with the use of eco-friendly bamboo fabrics, and through its collaborations with fabric and jewelry brands, each piece resonated with the rich heritage of Tianjin’s industrial and artistic legacy.
Wang’s ability to merge Western draping and Chinese cutting techniques stood out, creating garments that balanced vibrancy with tranquility. The metallic tones, a nod to Tianjin’s industrial past, added a futuristic edge, while the oriental-inspired patterns lent a depth of texture and narrative, evoking the cultural transformation of the Haihe River.
