In December 2022, Italian producer Go Dugong and Venezuelan musician Washé met in Caracas, their paths converging serendipitously through HAPE Collective.
Both artists, inspired by ancient rituals and shamanic chants, were drawn together by a shared curiosity for the unknown and the transcendent. Their collaboration led to a journey into the Amazon rainforest, where they explored the deep connection between nature and music. From this experience, Madre was born.
Madre is a tribute to nature’s power and beauty, expressed through music. The album reflects three stages of awakening: dissonance, challenge, and symbiosis—symbolizing the difficult yet profound journey towards unity with nature. The music, a fusion of traditional Venezuelan instruments and digital production, creates a dynamic dialogue between the ancient and the modern.
The project also features collaborations with notable artists, including Venezuelan jazz legend Gerry Weil, Latin American electronic music pioneer Miguel Noya, Afrofuturistic producer Kahlab, and Italy’s Clap Clap!. Together, they weave a sonic tapestry that blends roots and technology into a transformative musical experience.
