Laurin Schuler’s Upcoming BFW Show Multipliancy: January 31st

Laurin Schuler will unveil his new collection/show on January 31, 2025, during Berlin Fashion Week.

The multidisciplinary collection will be unveiled during an expressive show format at Spreehalle Berlin. Since his Berlin debut presentation Perspectiversial in 2022, he has surprised the audience with his unconventional, performative shows which is now part of the Berlin Fashion Week for the first time.

During his three-year stay in a gallery residence in Berlin, Schuler formed close ties with the local art community, as well as with the individuals behind it and within the institutions. This experience had a profound impact on his approach to fashion, particularly in shaping this collection. His goal is to bring people together by blending silhouettes and textile imagery, exploring their contexts within both fashion and art.

Laurin Schuler creates exquisite, handcrafted garments that shine through experimental techniques, elevating tulle to new heights of quality.

The collection tells a story of complexity and multiplicity by layering garments. The photographs that form the basis for the textile works with tulle are created in collaboration with photographer Anton Roentz. Therefore, photos are divided into cmyk-layers and printed on different layers of tulle.

By reassembling these single layers on top of each other, the initial colors are coming up again and creating together a dimension effect. A technique originally intended for a dress as a textile print reveals itself as an independent medium when presented in the spotlight.

While completing his studies at Kunsthochschule Weissensee Berlin, the 24-year-old developed a concept centered around both collections and show formats, with the latter playing a crucial role in his creative process. The performative show will unfold in multiple acts, accompanied by sound and lighting.

Each of Schuler‘s presentations is tied to its conceptual foundation, allowing visitors to experience the presentation in a personal and immersive way. The aim is to redefine the ways in which fashion and art are presented in their respective forms.
