ASICS and Story mfg recently announced the release of the GEL-VENTURE 6. The functional sneaker is a slightly bulkier take on the classic ASICS silhouette and comes in 2 gingham color-ways. The playfully functional design is intentional– it reflects a celebration of time spent well.
The inspiration for the sneaker was born from a love of hobbies– hiking, picnicking, crafting. It suggests the importance of living productively even when there is no particular payoff. Story mfg’s co-founder Saeed embellished the trainer with intricately woven laces, inspired by a personal memory. Growing up in Bagdhad, Saeed would see skaters lace their shoes in personal, distinctive ways. He added this unique woven lacing, as well as an extra set of laces to honor this memory of individuality.Through Story mfg, Saeed is able to honor these everyday expressions of self and rebellion.
The Story mfg x ASICS GEL-VENTURE 6 will be available on storymfg.com on the 13th of April, and internationally on the 18th of April.
