Shelter Announces Third Compilation Aveen, Premieres B E N N’s Track “1+-8”

Tallinn-Based Collective Gathers Global Talent for Its Most Cohesive Release Yet

Shelter, the Tallinn-based label, club night, and creative collective, is set to release its third compilation, Aveen, on April 18. Following 2023’s Feyrûse and 2024’s Mizgîn, the new release continues the collective’s mission to curate emotionally resonant and globally rooted electronic music.

Aveen, the 17-track compilation is a bold response to the dissonance of the mid-2020s, with its title — Aveen, a Kurdish word meaning “pure” or “transparent” — reflecting a longing for sincerity and raw artistic expression in an increasingly opaque world.

A Global Gathering by the Baltic Sea

Since its founding in 2022, Shelter has grown into one of Estonia’s most vital cultural forces, rallying dozens of electronic musicians from around the world to an unlikely creative meeting point by the Baltic Sea. Their focus lies in spotlighting strains of contemporary electronic music that carry rich cultural heritages, traditional roots, and voices from marginalized communities and emergent global scenes.

Aveen is their most international project to date, featuring 18 artists from 13 countries and 5 continents, including Vietnam, Slovakia, Egypt, and five rising talents from Tallinn’s own thriving electronic music scene. The compilation spans a diverse palette — from ambient and hypnagogic pop to leftfield techno, trance, neo-perreo, and GQOM — yet retains a strong emotional and narrative throughline.

Track Premiere: B E N N – “1+-8”

Ahead of the compilation’s full release, Shelter premieres “1+-8” by B E N N, a track that encapsulates the emotional tension and sonic experimentation Aveen stands for. Pulsing with broken rhythms and haunting atmospheric textures, it offers a moment of catharsis amid chaos — a hallmark of the compilation’s overall tone.

Beyond the Music: Shelter’s Social Mission

Shelter is more than a label — it’s a cultural initiative with a conscience. Alongside its thematic compilations and events, Shelter also engages in humanitarian efforts by donating ticket sales proceeds to organizations providing aid in global crises. Past recipients include the Ottawa Black Diaspora Coalition in Ukraine and both the Rebuilding Alliance and PCRF in Palestine. This blend of artistic expression and activism reinforces Shelter’s commitment to building a more compassionate and connected global community through music.

Aveen – Releasing April 18

Aveen arrives on digital platforms on April 18, presenting Shelter’s most emotionally charged and globally inclusive compilation yet. As the Estonian collective continues to grow its international footprint, Aveen stands as a testament to their evolving identity — one rooted in community, culture, and fearless creative honesty.
