RUIbuilt Spring / Summer 2025 – Paris Fashion Week

RUIbuilt Spring / Summer 2025 – Paris Fashion Week – insight into the new collection …

In a world where fashion often gravitates towards spectacle and excess, RUIbuilt’s 2025 Spring collection delivers something introspective, transforming a simple show into a meditation of timeless exhibition. Staged in the heart of Paris, the event was not just a display of clothing but a carefully crafted iteractive showcase, where models moved through a speechless performance, frozen-in-time setting that captured between the past and future. In this collection, liminal spaces became the perfect metaphor for clothing as an extension of the body, suspended between functionality and emotional expression.
RUIbuilt translated the concept of liminal space into their garments, using lightweight fabrics and signature cut-out designs that flowed like liquid over the body, reflecting the transitional nature of these in-between moments. Silhouettes were light and flowing, emphasizing the wearer’s movement while the strategic cut-outs and G-string straps hinted at both vulnerability and empowerment. There was an intentional flirtation with dislocation, as garments seemed to straddle two realities, much like the show’s setting — a rustic, decaying room filled with wrapped mattresses and abandoned homeware, waiting to be moved out.

A sense of nostalgia permeated the air, but there was no definitive past to be found, only traces of it — logs, brick pillars, and loosely scattered wooden frames. The models, rather than performing traditional runway walks, naturally inhabited the space, some relaxing on mattresses, others lighting candles or crossing paths in unpredictable, dreamlike ways. The show blurred the line between fashion and installation art, evoking the unsettling beauty of deserted places while offering an intimate look at the quiet moments we rarely pay attention to.

OSUGA’s collaboration with RUIbuilt added another layer of depth. The models carrying the butterfly-wing-shaped “Mobius” spoke to the idea of transformation and permanence, offering a physical metaphor for self-revelation and desire. The limited edition “Tremble,” discreetly placed in the gift bags, was a subtle invitation to engage with the show’s themes of openness and emotional vulnerability.

The highlight came with the final look, a white wedding dress held together by buttons. In a powerful moment of self-exposure, the dress was unbuttoned, disassembled, and laid to rest on the floor, symbolically shedding the constructs of convention and returning to its most basic, primal state. As the show came to a close, the once-bustling room slowly returned to its quiet slumber, much like the liminal spaces it sought to evoke — places of transition, waiting, and healing.

RUIbuilt’s 2025 Spring collection is a masterful exploration of the delicate balance between the physical and emotional, the seen and unseen.
