Demian Licht Releases HÉMERA VOL.1: A Luminous Techno Journey

Mexican electronic music producer Demian Licht returns with HÉMERA VOL.1. The new EP release is on November 22 through her label, Motus Records. Based on her 2020 album DIE KRAFT, HÉMERA VOL.1 reinterprets her signature techno sound with a lighter, more ethereal touch, inspired by the Greek goddess of daylight. This collection of five tracks emphasizes a bright, celestial energy. The tracks showcase Licht’s matured approach to sound design, where her self-described “sonic identity” takes center stage.
Notably, Demian Licht, known for her experimental and powerful techno releases, is celebrated as the first female Ableton Certified Trainer in Latin America. With over two decades in the industry, her career has spanned international performances, including recent live shows in Japan and China. Her music is in notable outlets like Vice, Resident Advisor, and Crack Magazine. Her journey has been enriched by global influences. Recently she’s been channelling her craft through unconventional methods like biohacking practices and new disciplines, from contemporary dance to language study.

The process behind HÉMERA VOL.1 reflects a minimalist, “less is more” approach. With tools like Ableton Live and Native Instrument’s Reaktor, Licht pushes the boundaries of electronic music production, creating complex sounds. Known for her depth in projects like the Female Criminals trilogy, Licht embraces a more refined sound in this release. She focuses on the essence of light as a life-giving force. Available on streaming platforms, HÉMERA VOL.1 represents Licht’s vision of music as both an emotional and sensory journey.
