Before the pandemic disrupted the world, Livigesh thrived in the heart of Seoul’s rave and festival circuit. From intimate underground clubs to massive event venues, he absorbed the seamless flow of nights that stretched into early mornings. Energy on the Floor is Livigesh’s love letter to those mystical nights, capturing the essence of a night out, bouncing from club to club, with each track serving as a chapter in this nocturnal journey.
“4989” kicks off the mystical journey with a hard-grooving opener that sets the mood. It eases you into the groove, preparing you for what’s to come. The headline tune, “Energy on the Floor,” dives into the heart of the rave with a bang. Hypnotic, somber broken-beats and trance-inducing harmonic patterns will get you lost in the dark.
“Pulsars” settles into the pulse of the city as the track takes over, driven by a rhythm that keeps you moving. “Open Space” breaks free and lets loose, offering expansive sounds that make you feel infinite on the dance floor.
“Clod Dub” winds down as the night transitions into early morning. This lengthy, repetitive piece is the perfect comedown, a true gem guiding you gently, yet nebulously, back to reality. Crafted after his fourth album, “Another Dimension”, dropped in April 2019, Livigesh was in a creative marathon, churning out techno gems without a second thought. Using a blend of digital and analogue magic, he worked with gear like the MPC 2000XL, MPC One, Kaoss Pad KP3+, and Roland R-5 to create sequences and loops. These were recorded and uniquely arranged in Ableton, ensuring each track stands out.
